Press Release

If what the great Italian photographer Luigi Ghirri said was true that “ to make photography there is no need to go far, just take a walk around your home” it is true that going far can also mean allowing the landscape to take you into another visual journey, like a dialogue composed of images that tell stories without revealing details.

For Amandine Nabarra-Piomelli the  landscape becomes an excuse to tell the secrets, the mutations, the obsessions that can change the destiny of a life. The photographs on show were taken in Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore, and tell the true story of Mrs. T who on  the day of her wedding  learns that the woman she believed to be her mother was actually her aunt and thus discovers the secret identity of her parents. This shocking revelation will change her destiny and lead her to travel the world in search of her father
These images, delicate and dreamy in appearance, sometimes almost evanescent, blur the line between painting and photography (thanks to the masterful  printing on Japanese Gampi paper), reflect the complexity of the artist's intentions and define her inherent world, her personal view and interpretation of what lies in front of her camera

For Luigi Tazzari the landscape is a walk in the familiar Adriatic Coast during the other seasons, those far from the crowds, distant from the typical sounds of the holidays by the seaside. Through a new reading of this landscape, accompanied by a geometric rigor and balanced combinations of shapes and colours, we can "hear" the almost unreal silence of a deserted and alienating environment, where nature seems to want to regain possession of the space
Tazzari shows us how by exploring places that are familiar  with a different approach and  perception, the same places may lead to new thinking and / or transmit other suggestions and emotions.

Amandine Nabarra-Piomelli  and Luigi Tazzari  capture the transition from reality to their own intuition and perception of what occurs in front of their eyes, they suggest other thoughts, stir emotions and make us slow down and decipher the landscape revealing new worlds, whether they are known or newly discovered.
