The veil of Muslim women has \u00a0always been a subject matter for discussions;\u00a0it is just its plurality of meanings and its evocative power that have made it an emblem of social, political, religious and cultural debates, often turning it into a real \u201cveil of discord\u201d.<\/div>\n<p>From a formal point of view the compositions refer to classical paintings, creating a symbolic contamination between the cultures of the East and the West: the images resemble Western portraits but the subjects are wearing oriental veils\/accessories and viceversa.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2868 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.visionquest.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/22051099_2002325290013467_4533520158790081562_o-300x182.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"323\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.visionquest.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/22051099_2002325290013467_4533520158790081562_o-300x182.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.visionquest.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/22051099_2002325290013467_4533520158790081562_o-200x121.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.visionquest.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/22051099_2002325290013467_4533520158790081562_o.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 323px) 100vw, 323px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Re-velations Carla Iacono doesn\u2019t take a position about the use of the veil, but plunges into history to &#8220;reveal&#8221; values \u200b\u200band meanings with sincere and refined pictures, respecting the differences and similarities between cultures.
