RENATO D'AGOSTIN \"METROPOLIS\"<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Opening:<\/strong> Thursday 12th March 2009, 6 pm to 9 pm The artist shall attend the opening<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> VISION QUEST Contemporary Photography is pleased to present the exhibition of Renato D\u2019Agostin \u201cMetropolis\u201d.<\/p>\n The vortex that normally envelops our existence prevents the focus of attention on the world we live in, causing a dangerous shortage of ideas essential to a peaceful and constructive life.\u00a0 Like atoms of a crazy cosmos, bouncing without a plausible reason, we lose sight of the beauty of the everyday details before our eyes and with which we might enrich our souls.\u00a0 Until someone, with calm and purity, performs this task on our behalf giving us images that take our senses back to that often elusive reality. Anaesthetized by time that makes me constantly aware of the real moment of things, I listen to the silence that leads me away from forms as obvious frames of objects, from moments as obvious frames of a real sequence, from the harmony of the elements that characterize all that surrounds me. Renato D\u2019Agostin is born in 1983 and starts his photographic career in Venice, Italy in 2001.

Renato D\u2019Agostin is the creator of this apparently new life and through the silence of photography; he regains our attention and cloaks it with peace and serenity.\u00a0\u00a0 It is not only the beauty of these works that amazes us:\u00a0 with the same intensity the message contained in them becomes an immediate call to authentically control our existence.\u00a0 Shots coming from a soul and reaching out to other souls enriching them with grace, sophistication and experience. Experience that in spite of his young age, our artist has already gathered, earning success and rewards worthy of a person who, as well as with the head, works with the heart.

Moments of linear and constant silence lead me to investigate something that I have seen before, in other perspectives, but not yet in that, not even from that point of view that moves me, which\u00a0 inspires awe for the unknown, not lived, or not seen.
I exclude elements that may date the two dimensions of the image, which might refer to that place and time, including others that synthesize its shape.
Perceptions emanating from the streets, and revised in terms of space, shape, hue.
Perceptions of the world where the objective,\u00a0 physical reality of\u00a0 places loses its contour lines and matches the other world where the contours are out of focus in the search for an imaginary space, where bodies moving mechanically oscillate or rotate, describing figures by kinetics.
And everything remains in the same muffled silence.

The city's atmosphere nourishes and develops his curiosity in capturing life situations with the camera.
For the same purpose in 2002 he journeys through the Western Europe capitals becoming fascinated by Paris.
Back in Italy he joins the Institute Italiano di Fotografia in Milan, and works with the production studio Maison Sabbatini.
He attends the New York\u2019s International Center of Photography in 2005 for its Fine Print Classes and in 2006 he is assistant to Ralph Gibson in NewYork. In 2007 he presents Metropolis at the Leica Gallery New York.
In \u201cMetropolis\u201d the notions of space and time of the city become transfigured, thus freeing surreal and dreamlike images related to the emotional depths of our collective unconscious, a space that Renato was able to investigate with intimate subtlety.\u00a0 This is his first solo exhibition in Italy.<\/p>\n
