Alessio Delfino

Biography

Italian artist, French by adoption, Alessio Delfino was born in Savona (Italy) in 1976, he lives and works between Savona and Milan.
His approach to photography takes place at a very young age, through the formative experience in the darkroom, his studies in chemistry and his connection with other artists with whom he maintains a close friendships. With them he created his first works, which progressed into photographic series, bringing about his first exhibition in Genoa and propelling him into the Italian art scene thus beginning a prolific international career.
In 2008, he presents the Metamorphoseis project as part of the exhibition at Castello di Rivara, Museum of Contemporary Art in Turin, and the following year the series is taken overseas for his first exhibition in New York.
In 2010 the work inspired by the tarot cards, sets off three solo exhibitions in Italy - Milan, Rome and Turin- and just as many international exhibitions, presented in private galleries in New York, Brussels and Nuremberg.
In early 2013, the new series Rêves is presented in an exhibition in Paris and later in New York, Berlin and Seoul.
He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, among others Percorsi riscoperti dell'arte italiana nella VAF - Stiftung 1947-2010 at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto MART, and The High Priestess of the Tarot series at the 54th Venice Biennale.
In 2013 he is invited in Marseille during the European Capital of Culture events with the Rêves series, and in the same year in Trieste and Montecarlo.
In the following years he exhibits at the Monaco Yacht Club and the Biennale dell'Arte Latitudini at Palazzo Ducale in Genoa.
He has participated in many international contemporary art fairs like New York, Chicago, Miami, Hong Kong, Busan, Madrid, Milan. Some of his works are part of museum collections like the MART of Trento and Rovereto and the Castello di Rivara, Museum of Contemporary Art.
